Metallurgy Laboratory Technician
East side of Cleveland- 72 person Laboratory.
Exposure to a very diverse materials and damage mechanism environment.
EDUCATION: HS diploma minimum, Associates degree in the sciences or technical area preferred.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: At least 6 years of hands on experience in the area of Metallographic sample preparation, etching and recording of microstructures, and performance of hardness measurements (micro and macro). The materials background should be in the area of carbon and low alloy steels, stainless steels, copper alloys, and titanium alloys.
- Skilled in the use of MS Office products for photographic, word processing and Excel spread sheets.
- Experience in the operation of an Emission Spectrograph or Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Energy Dispersive Analysis (EDS) system is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Include hands on cutting, preparation, etching and recording of the microstructure during metallurgical evaluations. Also performance of hardness measurements (macro and micro), and materials identification by Emission Spectrograph in both the lab and field.
- Perform hands on testing in both the field and laboratory.
- Maintenance of laboratory equipment and procurement of laboratory supplies.
- Perform work tracking duties.
- Prepare written reports presenting the metallurgical test data.

Coal and Coke Engineer - IL based in R&D center, 50% international travel - Provide technical support, evaluate, and develop new technologies in the field of coal science and coke-making. Develop strategy for cost reduction and asset preservation in coke plants.
- Define and develop project portfolio in coke-making area. Give high quality technical support to the plants in the Americas, conduct battery evaluations. Support decisions of Procurement and M&A.
- Mainly Americas, but some projects have a global perspective where interaction is expected. The position doesn't have people to be managed but a high level of leadership skills are needed.

Finishing Process Engineers - OH
The position is in the Operating Technology Department with the main duties to improve quality of process and product and reduce variation and consequently cost through optimization of practices and standards, trials of the new process, methods and materials, stabilization of improvements gained and strong collaboration with research and development teams.
Key responsibilities: - Technical support for finishing operations, including heat treatment of steel, and non-destructive testing to resolve multi-discipline problems. Maintain and improve standard procedures, train the operators. Reduce variations of key process indicators.
- Lead the Continuous Improvement Team(s)
- Benchmark the existing and evaluate new technologies, processes, materials.
- Build technical capabilities, necessary to execute strategy by identifying and presenting Capital Expenditure Projects.
- Coordinate Project activities with Process Communities, R&D centers, external research orginizations and universities.
- Promote effective communucation vertically and horizontally within the organization.
- Use Manufacturing Process Control (MPC), Six Sigma and/or other advanced problem solving techniques such as Design of Experiments, process capability, SPC and FMEA to isolate and reduce sources of variation and resolve production and quality issues.
- Implement root cause analysis and corrective action of non-conformance to mitigate rework, reduce cost and improve quality.
Education: - Minimum educational requirement is BS or its equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical Engineering/Material Science or related disciplines.
Preferred Experience & Skills: - 1-3 years steel industry experience preferred

Stainless Steel and Silicone Steel Annealing Furnace Product Manager - This position works with Sales & Marketing Director to manage the stainless and silicone market: develop marketing tools, product development, proposal development, help during training/commissioning if needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Sales Contacts:
- Keep up to date with market research to identify potential and current customer needs and develop an effective application of products and services.
- Evaluate product and service marketability in terms od customers' technical and manufacturing needs and develop action plan accordingly.
- Manage customer accounts and assist customers and potential customers in defining their needs. Develop and cultivate contacts at all levels within the industry.
- Balance customer relationships, customer satisfaction and company interest in a reasonable fashion.
- Qualify leads to ensure the sales team in focusing their effort on realistic contracts.
- Develop sales opportunities and key accounts through presentations, qualification documents and conferences with potential customers.

- Once a contract is awarded, provide support to all departments as needed.
Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (thermal expertise is a must) or in metallurgical.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Steel industry (Stainless and/or Silicone), operational knowledge in annealing of stainless steel and/or Silicone steel is a must AND / OR previous experience in a furnace engineering firm.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Knowledge of steel and/or furnace industry especially in stainless / silicone.
- Knowledge of the annealing process, metallurgical aspect.
- Understanding of thermal engineering. Excellent communication and sales skills.
- Ability to work independently and be a good problem solver.
- Proficiency with the following programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, Spreadsheets, Charts/Graphs, Macros (not required but a plus).

Quality Assurance Manager - OH
Collaborates closely with the Directors of Projects, Sales, Purchasing, and Shop to develop and maintain a Quality Assurance Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - General Management:
- Implement Quality Assurance Program and processes that meet ISO quality standards.
- Performing internal audits to ensure compliance with the Quality Assurance Program.
- Define acceptable deviations and address non-conformities.
- Conduct periodic Management Reviews of the Quality Program.
- Following-up on and close pending Preventive and Corrective Action Requests.
- Insuring that organizational systems and trainings are in place.
- Ensure documentation and design controls are in place and appropriate for the organization.
- Design and administer a document control system.
- Set up and implement controls for shipping and the "ins" and "outs" of raw materials.
- Oversee established calibration and testing program.
- Assist the management team and provide QA support as necessary.
- Provide for vendor surveillance and review.
- Work with Project Teams to ensure that inspections are performed in accordance with customer and project requirements and in accordance with the required schedules.
- Ensure that pertinent information from inspection reports is distributed to the responsible Project Team members.

- Ensure that all customer requirements relating to manufacturability and manufacturing are reviewed during the proposal preperation stage of a contract, implement customer contract inspection and testing requirements through the Project Team, and ensure that these requirements are included in supplier orders.
- Develop inspection and test plans as required to support these requirements.
- Develop and implement feedback processes to ensure that supplier experience in manufacturing is reflected in appropriate changes to design documents, specifications and standards.
- Assist with the supplier qualification process (Approved Supplier List) to ensure that supplier are capable of performing manufacturing in accordance with quality requirements.
- Provide for review and approval of supplier manufacturing procedures, including welding and test procedures to assure compliance with requirements.
- Interface with Quality Management to develop required synergies for vendor surveillance, supplier audits and supplier manufacturing requirements.
Qualification and Requirements: - Quality orientation and high attention to detail.
- Experience with developing/documenting quality control procedures.
- Strong problem analysis and problem resolution skills.
- Must be able to effectively read and understand blue prints.
- Knowledge of quality standards, practiuces and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communicatiuon skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively present techniques and information in a one-to-one and small group situation to vendors, customers and other employees within the company.
Education and/or Experience: - Minimum six - ten years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combinatioon of education and experience.
- The candidate should have a good working knowledge of quality control and how it applies to machining, layout, fit-up, welding and assembly processes.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
0%-25% travel required for customer and/or vendor qualification both domestic and international.
